Dear MSP Community,
As you’ve maneuvered through the 1st month of the 2020-2021 academic school year, you’ve done so in the midst of COVID-19, along with the ongoing ramifications of social injustices and racial inequality. I applaud you on successfully making it through. As you continue to prepare, show up, and sign in to your virtual classrooms, know that everyone connected to the MSP community remains informed, involved, active, and connected to the daily functions and operations of this great institution.
As always, the Board of Trustees is consistently kept in the loop and is working behind the scenes to provide support and guidance to the institution. I concur with Dr. Brown’s statement in her letter to you from September 8th, 2020, “The academic experience will be just as meaningful, just as educational, and just as authentic no matter how or where we do it.” That has certainly been the case. With the faculty being trained to competently teach online, along with increased investments in technology and database options, our online learning (despite a few minor bumps along the way) has been cogent and effective.
On behalf of the Board of Trustees, we wish you continued success as you work and weave your way through these unprecedented times. Do your best to remain steadfast, focused and determined, and I’m positive that you’ll triumphantly make it through.
Warm Regards,
Dr. Tanya Martin,
Chair of the Board of Trustees
