It’s time for our annual Year in Review! As we look back on each month of the academic year, the MSP community can reflect on the changes and growth we have experienced since September, both individually and as a community. Here’s a look at highlights from January 2023.

Representatives from MSP attended the mid-winter conference of the National Council of Schools and Programs of Professional Psychology.
Dr. Valerie Luxon presented about Eating Disorders on January 23rd.
Dr. Spitsbergen met with Michigan State Senate Majority Leader Winnie Brinks while representing MSP at the governor's State of the State address on January 27th.

Other highlights from January:

We celebrated a 100% pass rate for the BCBA exam. 

On January 16th, IDEA participated in the MLK Day sign-making and Legacy March at the Farmington Community Library. 

Jean Alicia Elster, the Development Director for Cass Community Social Services, came and presented “A Place to Call Home: Gentrification & Intergenerational Poverty in Detroit” on January 18th.

The Psi Chi chapter at MSP hosted a workshop on developing a poster on January 30th. 

Every Sunday in January Student Engagement hosted Zoom yoga sessions. 

Blogs: We learned how to prioritize physical wellness, and Dr. Mike Tyler and Dr. Adam Duberstein were in the faculty spotlight.
