What or who influenced you to study psychology?
A genuine interest in people.

Women studies: gender roles
Multicultural/Social Justice
Clinical assessment/ neuropsychological testing
What appeals to you most about teaching at MSP?
Meeting and connecting with the clinicians of the future. Hearing the minds of upcoming influencers in psychology gives me hope for an improved future, not only in this field but in other human service industries, families, public and private organizations, and spiritual sects. Psychology is everywhere and so are its agents!
What is your favorite non-academic book and why?
Hmm… lately the non-academic books I read are written for children either age 4 or 8. I guess my favorite right now is entitled, No Matter What, by Debi Gliori. In this story, Small needs reassurance from his/her mother that s/he is loved no matter what, even if the two of them are apart. This story highlights the importance of unconditional love in the development of our
children, but also its ongoing importance in our adult lives. “What the world needs now, is love, sweet love…”(Jackie DeShannon, 1965).
What advice would you like to share with incoming or current students?
You have chosen a field that allows you to fit into every setting where people live, work, or play. Be influencers for change and heal the world!
