Examples of Presentation Outline with Time Estimates

*Please note that these are just examples. Your outline does not have to look exactly like this.

Example 1

  • 3-5 minutes. Brief Introduction to Symposium Topic: “Title”
  • 15-20 minutes. Presenter-1: Name
    • Information Piece 1 that is covered
    • Information Piece 2 that is covered
    • Information Piece 3 that is covered
    • ….
  • 15-20 minutes. Presenter-2: Name
    • Information Piece 1 that is covered
    • Information Piece 2 that is covered
    • Information Piece 3 that is covered
    • ….
  • 7-10 minutes. Chair/Expert Presenter
    • Covering overall thoughts, reflections, suggestions on topic
  • 5-7 minutes. Q&A with the audience

Example 2

  • 3-5 minutes. Brief Introduction to Symposium Topic: “Title”
  • 7-10 minutes. Overview of the main points of the topic including
    • Point 1
    • Point 2
    • Point 3
  • 3-5 minutes. Introduction of discussion topic
  • 15-20 minutes. Group discussion with questions:
    • Question 1
    • Question 2
    • Question 3
    • ….
  • 7-10 minutes. Wrapping up discussion with further information
    • Point 1
    • Point 2
  • 5-7 minutes. Last thoughts and Q&A from audience

Example 3

  • 10-15 minutes. Overview of the main points of the topic including

  • 10-15 minutes. Break out into small group activity
    • Description of group activity

  • 5-10 minutes. Wrapping up information about topic
