Psi Chi hosted the Fourth Annual Mental Health Research Symposium on April 20.
This annual celebration of student research included two poster sessions, a Keynote Address by Sara McClelland, PhD, Assistant Professor in the Department of Women’s Studies and Psychology at the University of Michigan, based on Dr. McClelland’s own research on sexuality in palliative care, and workshops taught by Program Director Fran Brown, PsyD and Core Faculty member Douglas Callan, PhD.
MSP offered a free screening of “The Return” a PBS POV film to the community on April 27.
After the film, our expert panel took questions from the audience regarding the intersection of the criminal justice system, PTSD, and substance abuse disorders.
MSP students and faculty attended the Midwestern Psychological Association’s Annual Conference to present research and network with fellow psychologists.
MSP students, faculty, and staff donated cash to wear jeans for Denim Day on April 25 in support of Sexual Assault Awareness Month.
Beyond showing community support to survivors of sexual assault, Denim Day was a fundraiser for HAVEN, Oakland County’s resource for supporting victims of domestic and sexual violence.
