It’s time for our annual Year in Review! As we look back on each month of the academic year, the MSP community can reflect on the changes and growth we have experienced since September, both individually and as a community. Here’s a look at highlights from October 2023.

On October 20th, we honored former Vice President Diane Zalapi with the dedication of the Diane K. Zalapi Lecture Hall and Conference Center.

On October 21st, the ABPsi SC held their first convention “Community, Identity, & Culture: “Ubuntu – I am because we are.”

On October 25th, Amy Hanes (PsyD ’16) returned to campus to present on highly sensitive persons.

Other Highlights from October:

We welcomed Megan Mraz as our first Executive Assistant to support the growing needs of the institution. 

Coordinator of Admissions & Student Engagement, Kinsey Tekiele hosted PsyD info sessions for MA students interested in applying to the PsyD program.

The Alliance of Coalitions for Health Families provided students, faculty, and staff two opportunities to obtain training in administering Narcan.  

ECO’s T-Shirt to Toys drive upcycled old shirts into dog toys for local rescues. 

Psi Chi hosted their first paper to proposal workshop of the year on October 30th.

Blogs: We celebrated the recipient of the Cereta Perry Scholarship, we honored the life of former professor and alumna Dr. Donna Rockwell, we announced the dedication of the Diane K. Zalapi Lecture Hall & Conference CenterMegan Mraz was in the staff spotlight, and Dr. Micki Wierman was in the clinic spotlight.
