November & December 2023

It’s time for our annual Year in Review! As we look back on each month of the academic year, the MSP community can reflect on the changes and growth we have experienced since September, both individually and as a community. Here’s a look at highlights from November and December 2023. Despite being shorter months due to holiday breaks, we still got up to a lot!

Drs. Sebree, Shepler, and Tyler hosted a director’s lunch where MA students could enjoy pizza and talk with them on November 7th.

We welcomed staff from HAVEN for training on consent on November 29th.

MENAPC hosted a support group and set-up a memorial for the lives lost in the Middle East.

IDEA once again had a successful Adopt-A-Family drive and were able to support a Kosher family during the holidays.

On December 1st, Andrew Kaleita, our writing specialist, Stephanie Swanberg, one of our MSP librarians, and Carrie Pyeatt, Director of Student Services, offered a session on tips and tricks for succeeding in Grad School.

Blogs: We celebrated Native American Heritage Month, Kwanza, and the ways MSP gives back, welcomed the Middle Eastern and North African Psychology Club as our fifth student organization, examined different types of Master’s degrees within the mental health field and how to make the most of winter break, and Dr. Juanita Houston (PsyD ’20) updated us on her life after MSP.
