What is a cause you’re passionate about?

One cause I’m passionate about is reducing the stigma surrounding mental illness. Many people delay seeking treatment because they’re afraid of being judged. I want to help normalize conversations about mental health and encourage people to view seeking therapy as a sign of strength rather than weakness.

Why did you choose to attend MSP?

I chose the Michigan School of Psychology because I was drawn to its belief that psychology is both a science and a deeply human discipline. My experiences in the legal field exposed me to people during some of their most vulnerable moments, which strengthened my desire to better understand trauma, resilience, and human behavior. MSP stood out because it emphasizes developing clinicians who are not only knowledgeable, but compassionate, ethical, and capable of seeing the person beyond the diagnosis. I want to train in an environment that challenges me intellectually while shaping me into the kind of clinician who can make a meaningful impact

What do you plan to do with your degree?

With my Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology, my goal is to become a licensed therapist and provide meaningful, evidence-based care to individuals navigating complex emotional and psychological challenges. I am particularly interested in trauma, resilience, and understanding the factors that influence human behavior. Long-term, I would like to explore the intersection between clinical psychology and forensic psychology, potentially working with populations involved in the legal system or individuals impacted by trauma and crisis. However, I want to remain open to the diverse opportunities within the field and allow my clinical training and experiences to further shape my professional path. Ultimately, my goal is to become a well-rounded clinician who can advocate for and support individuals through some of the most challenging moments of their lives.

How did you first get interested in the mental health profession?

My interest in the mental health profession developed through my exposure to the profound connection between human behavior, adversity, and healing. Through my experiences in the legal field, I witnessed individuals navigating some of the most vulnerable and complex moments of their lives, which sparked my curiosity about the psychological factors that influence resilience, decision-making, and recovery. I became drawn to psychology because it offers the opportunity to understand people beyond their circumstances and provide meaningful, evidence-based support during pivotal moments in their lives.
