Faculty Spotlight: Kathy Chen, PsyD

Dr. Kathy Chen is an adjunct faculty member teaching a section of Ethics in Professional Psychology in the PsyD program this semester.

I grew up on Long Island in New York.

What or who influenced you to study psychology?

I was influenced to study psychology by my father. 

What are your research and/or clinical interests?

I specialize in the treatment of eating disorders.

What appeals to you most about teaching at MSP?

I love the small and warm community here at MSP.

What is your favorite non-academic book?

I’m realizing it’s been to long since I’ve read non-academically.    🙂

What advice would you like to share with incoming or current students?

Focus on the process of learning, not on the result of your grade. Progress, not perfection.
