At MSP, research is encouraged for both students and faculty. The research involved may be independent or as part of a team and may result in publication or presentation. The following activities are currently underway at MSP:
- Dr. Dustin Shepler (Core Faculty), Priscilla Zoma (PsyD I), Melanie Ho (PsyD I), and Chris Bober (PsyD I) will present their research, “Face-to-Face vs. online interviewing: Perceptions of empathy, competence, and alliance” in a poster session at the APA Convention in August 2014.
- Dr. Dustin Shepler (Core Faculty), Priscilla Zoma (PsyD I), and Melanie Ho (PsyD I) will present their research, “Online therapy: Where are we and where we need to go,” in a poster session at the APA Convention in August 2014.
- Dr. Jill Castro (Clinical Training Administrator) will present on her doctoral dissertation, The Large-Breasted Woman’s Experience of Multiple Breast Identities, at the National Association for Women in Psychology Conference in Columbus, OH in March 2014.
- Dr. David St. John’s (Core Faculty) topic, “Vitamin E: The Natural Environment as Active Ingredient in Psychological Treatments,” has been accepted for panel discussion at APA Convention in August 2014.
- Dr. David St. John (Core Faculty) will also participate as a panel presenter in the discussion, “What Trayvon Martin Could Mean for Humanistic Psychology: Practical and Clinical Implications,” at Society for Humanistic Psychology Annual Conference in March 2014.
- Dr. Betz King (MA Program Coordinator) will act as a judge for The Association for the Study of Woman and Mythology’s Kore Award for best dissertation.
