Accommodations Process

Steps:

  1. Complete the interactive process (two steps that can be completed in any order)
  • Have your doctor complete MSP’s Accommodations Paperwork OR send [email protected] previous documentation of your disability (ex. testing reports, letters from a previous doctor, accommodation notices from previous institutions). Documentation needs to either be on official letterhead from your doctor or previous institution or have a signature. Please ensure that the documentation identifies your disability(s) and what functional limitations result from your disability(s).
  • Meet with the Director of Student Services Carrie Pyeatt. The meeting can be conducted in person or via Zoom. Please reach out to Carrie at [email protected] to schedule a time. The meeting can occur before or after the doctor documentation is received.

2. Receive your accommodations letter from Director of Student Services Carrie Pyeatt.

3. Provide your accommodations letter to any faculty whose class you wish to use your accommodations. Accommodations are not retroactive so we encourage you to provide your letter as soon as possible to all appropriate faculty to activate your accommodations.

Your accommodation letters will be developed by Director of Student Services Carrie Pyeatt by using the information gathered during the interactive process. Accommodations will be provided if a disability is identified, there are barriers related to the disability, and there are reasonable accommodations that can be provided to reduce these barriers.

Students may appeal any decision made by the Director of Student Services to the Vice President of Services & Operations, ADA Compliance Officer/Section 504 Coordinator, Tami Jacobs. To appeal, please contact Vice President, Tami Jacobs.

Vice President Tami Jacobs will make a decision on the appeal within 10 business days of receiving the appeal.
