About the President
Brian Stogner, PhD
Michigan School of Psychology’s Fifth President
The Michigan School of Psychology (MSP), an independent not-for-profit graduate school, provides an educational climate which inspires students to live up to their potential, professionally and personally. MSP offers a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology, Doctor of Psychology in Clinical Psychology, and a Certificate in Applied Behavior Analysis. The institution has been a leader in clinical, experiential self-directed education for over 40 years. Its curriculum emphasizes personal growth, authenticity and creativity as integral parts of the academic process. As President, Dr. Stogner is responsible for providing overall leadership for MSP to advance the school’s mission, purpose, and vision. In this role he promotes MSP’s unique climate of academic excellence and its contributions to the field of psychology.
Formerly the president and CEO of Rochester Christian University, Dr. Stogner has had a long career in higher education. He first served in the roles of faculty, department chair, vice president and provost, before becoming president of Rochester Christian University in 2016.
Dr. Stogner is a first-generation college student, earning his bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Michigan-Flint and master’s and doctoral degrees in clinical psychology from Wayne State University. He was a practicing psychologist for over 20 years in southeast and central Michigan in private practice, university, and medical settings.
