What would people be surprised to know about you?
Although I have a free spirit and am often seen as a “people person,” many might be surprised to learn that I am actually quite introverted.
Name a cause you are passionate about.
I am deeply passionate about making a positive impact on people’s lives and helping them achieve their full potential.
Why did you choose MSP?
I chose the doctoral program at the Michigan School of Psychology (MSP) because I am inspired by the institution’s transformative mission. I am eager to contribute to the campus culture, engage meaningfully with fellow students, and embody the principles of MSP in my future practice as a psychologist.
What do you want to do with your degree?
Upon graduating MSP’s PsyD program and successfully obtaining the appropriate licensure, I see myself as an established Child Psychologist, working within a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care for children and adolescents. I aim to contribute to the field through research and practice, particularly focusing on creating inclusive, effective mental health services for underserved communities.
Additionally, I am particularly interested in researching early intervention strategies for at-risk youth in diverse communities. My work and personal experiences have highlighted the critical need for accessible, culturally competent interventions that can prevent long-term mental health issues. I believe that through targeted research, we can develop more effective strategies for supporting these vulnerable populations.
How did you first get interested in the mental health profession?
My motivation to work in the mental health field stems from my own experiences with bullying and mental health challenges during adolescence. These difficulties led me to a path of resilience and empathy, driving my desire to support children and adolescents navigating similar challenges. I am committed to helping young individuals achieve their potential, making a career in clinical psychology not just a choice, but a calling.
