What would people be surprised to know about you?
Something that people would be surprised to know about me is that I build computers as a hobby. I have been doing this for years and have built roughly 50 since becoming interested in computers.
Name a cause you are passionate about.
I am very passionate about bringing awareness to and advocating for survivors of human trafficking. Over the last year, I have been fortunate enough to work with this population. My experience with survivors has been truly inspiring and eye-opening. I hope to continue to work with this population in the future.
Why did you choose MSP?
I chose to continue my education at MSP largely due to my experience in the full-time MA program this past year. MSP has become a second home for me where I feel supported by my cohort, staff, and professors. MSP has been a space for not only professional development but also personal growth. I am excited to continue on that journey for another 4 years.
What do you want to do with your degree?
Upon completion of the PsyD program, I hope to continue to work with clients who have experienced complex trauma. Additionally, I would like to continue working in a non-profit setting with the goal of providing free or affordable mental health care to underserved populations.
How did you first get interested in the mental health profession?
I first became interested in Psychology during high school. I had a very fun and engaging high school teacher who inspired me to major in Psychology. After graduating undergrad, I worked for 3 years at the Department of Justice where I became passionate about working with underserved communities who have experienced trauma.
