What would people be surprised to know about you?

I grew up in a small town. The first vehicle I learned to drive was a combine tractor, and I hunt.

Name a cause you are passionate about.

Providing mental health services to those who wouldn’t otherwise have access to mental health services or healthcare in general.

Why did you choose MSP?

I was impressed with the students from the Master’s program and how well-rounded experience they’ve had. They also discussed in great length how wonderful the PsyD program is. The small class sizes and attention to student achievement and success also was an enticing aspect to the program.

What do you want to do with your degree?

I plan on working as a Pediatric Clinical Psychologist and open my own practice that also works as a learning clinic to host students and further education.

How did you first get interested in the mental health profession?

I have a younger brother who was diagnosed with Asperger’s Syndrome when we were both young. I was allowed to be part of his mental health journey and I absolutely fell in love with psychology. I loved learning how the brain works, how people work, and helping people in the process. It all just fills my bucket in so many ways. As I’ve been in practice, I could not imagine doing anything else.
