Masters in Clinical Psychology

Thank you for your interest in the Michigan School of Psychology’s Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology program!

Michigan School of Psychology (MSP) offers a unique full-time intensive Masters program that allows you to graduate in just 11 months with the clinical skills and credentials to become a limited licensed psychologist in the state of Michigan. Flexible enrollment options are also available if you need a part-time program that allows you to work while you learn.

The 48 credit hour MA degree combines coursework with a 500 hour practicum; integrating academic theory and scientific research with clinical practice.

Our experienced and engaged faculty serve as role models, guiding you through your academic and professional development. MSP’s degree programs are in person, allowing you to build personal and professional relationships that enhance your learning experience and last a lifetime.

The curriculum challenges students to integrate core knowledge of psychology with emerging clinical skills and attitudes. The program bridges traditional and applied programs by emphasizing psychological theories and concepts, personal experience, clinical training, and research. The instructional format is interactive and combines a variety of teaching methods.

MA graduates are eligible for licensure as Temporary Limited Licensed Psychologists (TLLP) in the State of Michigan. In Michigan, LLP licensing requirements include 2,000 postgraduate hours of supervised clinical experience and passing the Examination for Professional Practice in Psychology (EPPP) licensing exam. Applicants for licensure also are required to complete a criminal background check and answer additional questions relevant to eligibility for professional practice in psychotherapy.

It is incumbent upon students to research the requirements of other states in which they may wish to practice as each state has its own licensing policies and requirements.
