Faculty Spotlight: Kristine Vichinsky, PsyD, LP

Kristine Vichinsky, LP (PsyD ’22) is an adjunct faculty member teaching a section of Assessment II in the MA program this semester.

Where did you grow up?

I grew up in metro Detroit and have lived here all my life. 

What or who influenced you to study psychology?

I grew up with siblings who have autism spectrum disorder, which influenced me to study psychology from a young age. 

What are your research and/or clinical interests?

My clinical interests are assessing autism spectrum disorder, forensic psychology, and neuropsychological assessment.

What appeals to you most about teaching at MSP?

It is nice to be back on campus and teach a class that is also one of my clinical interests. 

What is your favorite non-academic book, and why?

It is very hard for me to pick a favorite non-academic book, but I really enjoy reading books that fall in the mystery/thriller genre. 

What advice would you like to share with current students? 

The journey in psychology is ongoing. Keep feeding your curiosity, pursuing further education or certifications, and staying engaged with the evolving landscape of psychological science and practice.
