Join us for a presentation in Room 3 on January 29th at 12:30 with Karen Moore from Sanctum House. Karen and a survivor of human trafficking, Irene, will be joining us to discuss human trafficking, complex trauma, and the journey out. They will go into what is human trafficking, where it is happening, what to do if you suspect it, and what are the indicators. This presentation is PEAA eligible and will be offered both on campus and via zoom.
This presentation will be coupled with a donation drive during the month of January.
Karen Moore is a graduate of Michigan State University and was a global executive at Ford Motor Company. She went on to be the President/CEO of Ladywood High School and subsequently became the Executive Director at Sanctum House. Karen and her team developed the programs and processes to open the 24-month integrated care safe house for adult women victims of human trafficking in Michigan in 2018. Sanctum House provides 24/7 coverage and offers mental healthcare, physical healthcare, substance use disorder, life skills training, educational opportunities, spiritual growth and employment opportunities. She is a Board member of The Pearls of Great Price Coalition and is certified by the US Government to train on human trafficking on behalf of Health & Human Services.
Irene Faziani is a graduate of Sanctum House. She has five years in recovery and for the past two years has mentored women coming through the Sanctum House program. She is an active advocate for victims of Human Trafficking and Domestic Violence. She is now living a successful, independent and sober life. She is also a successful business woman making her voice known and is now a full-time employee at Sanctum House.
