Gentrification: The Physical and Symbolic Displacement of African American Detroiters and Its Impact on Mental Health

Dr. White’s presentation will be based on her dissertation Gentrification: A narrative approach to understanding the experience of African American Detroiters in which she examined the physical and symbolic displacement of long-term residents. The full dissertation is available to read on ProQuest. This event will be taking place in room 2.
