We are thrilled to announce that the American Psychological Association’s Council on Accreditation (CoA) has reaffirmed its accreditation of MSP’s Doctor of Psychology in Clinical Psychology program through 2036. An accreditation period of 10 years is the highest recognition given by the council and demonstrates substantial consistency with accreditation standards.
When reflecting on this accomplishment, PsyD Program Director Dr. Matt Kadrich said, “Receiving a 10-year re-accreditation is a massive achievement for the PsyD program, as it is an acknowledgment from the APA that our program meets the highest of standards. This is not only a testament to the dedication of our current faculty, staff, and students, but also the tireless work put in by every single member of the MSP community since our initial accreditation in 2016. I am beyond grateful to each person who offered their time, expertise, and voice to this process.”
This sentiment was echoed by MSP President, Dr. Brian Stogner, “We are extremely gratified to see our doctoral program’s accreditation re-affirmed by APA. This re-affirmation is a reflection of the hard and focused work of faculty and staff, and is also a validation of the work of our students. We celebrate this wonderful news while continuing our commitment to continuous improvement and the ongoing delivery of the highest quality clinical training and teaching.”
An accredited program reflects a high quality of work by the entire institution. During their visit, the CoA met with and examined the work and experiences of faculty, staff, clinical training, and our students. They evaluated the quality of the program’s curriculum, leadership, policies, communication with the public, and more.
In the letter from the CoA, Aaron Joyce, PhD, ABPP, Executive Lead Psychologist, Accreditation for the Office of Program Consultation and Accreditation, wrote, “The Commission recognizes the quality of training provided by the program and deems it in substantial compliance with the Standards of Accreditation… In closing, on behalf of the Commission on Accreditation, I extend congratulations to the faculty and students of the program for their achievements.”
