What would people be surprised to know about you?
I’m a secret introvert.
Name a cause you are passionate about.
I’m passionate about working towards the destigmatization of mental health diagnoses, particularly with regard to certain personality disorders. Despite the definitions in the DSM, I believe that some of them can actually be “cured”. I’m also interested in how Big Data algorithmic techniques could be used in psychology research.
Why did you choose MSP?
I chose MSP because the school’s size allows for truly meaningful connections with both other students as well as staff and faculty. I am also a firm believer in the humanistic approach because receiving validation of one’s experiences and unconditional positive regard are among the most powerful healing tools available.
What do you want to do with your degree?
My intention is to develop new interventions for borderline that go deeper than skills acquisition. I’m currently honing in on early adolescents who are at risk for this disorder since I believe that this is the critical intervention point.
What are you most looking forward to about your program?
I’m looking forward to the challenge of deep dives into the subjects of study.
