Meet Our Clinic Staff
The clinic operates under the supervision of two fully licensed psychologists – the Clinic Director and the Clinic Supervisor. The ABA Clinic Supervisor, a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, oversees the services of the clinic’s applied behavior analysis treatment center. MSP masters and doctoral level student trainees provide therapy under the direct supervision of fully licensed psychologists.
Clinic Director
Jim Maher, PhD
Dr. Maher joined the Michigan School of Psychology in August 2019 and helped create the new Psychology Training Clinic. He previously worked in Detroit area hospitals on psychiatric inpatient units and was at Henry Ford Wyandotte Hospital for 24 years. While there he was Lead Clinician for Behavioral Services, conducted daily individual and group psychotherapy, and directed the training of psychology students in both internship and practicum. Dr. Maher also served as an Adjunct Professor and Supervisor at the University of Detroit Mercy for 15 years, teaching a variety of courses including Group Therapy and Psychology in a Hospital Setting. Clinic Manager
Holly Tocco
Holly Tocco joined the MSP clinic in 2021 and manages the with the day-to-day operations of the Clinic. In her role Holly ensures compliance with HIPAA, schedules sessions with student clinicians, oversees patient tracking, records, and billing, and more. Holly has a degree in psychology from Western Michigan University and worked as a clinical team lead and patient care specialist prior to starting at MSP. Learn more about Holly here.
Supervisors
ABA Supervisor: Lama Hodroj, MA, TLLP, BCBA, LBA
Lama Hodroj joined the MSP clinic as the ABA Clinical Supervisor in 2022. She provides Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services to families in addition to providing clinical supervision to students in the ABA program who are completing their training at the MSP clinic. Lama received her MA with a concentration in ABA degree from MSP. After completing her coursework, she received her TLLP and began working as a behavior consultant before becoming a fully licensed Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). She worked in a variety of roles within the ABA field, including as a BCBA, before joining the MSP clinic. Click here to learn more about Lama.
Faculty Supervisor: Stacy Grindling, PsyD
Dr. Grindling first joined the Michigan School of Psychology as an Adjunct Faculty member in 2016 before joining the clinic as a faculty supervisor in 2023. Dr. Grindling received her PsyD from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology. In her clinical work, Dr. Grindling conducts evaluations and assessments with children and adolescents. Dr. Wierman joined the Michigan School of Psychology as an Adjunct Faculty member in 2023 and is currently serving as one of the faculty supervisors in the clinic. Dr. Wierman received her doctorate in clinical psychology from The University of Detroit-Mercy and has experience working with adults in psychodynamic psychotherapy.
