First Annual ABPsi SC Convention

The ABPsi Student Circle is holding their First Annual Convention. This year’s theme is Community, Identity, & Culture: “Ubuntu -I am because we are” and will be held in-person on Saturday, October 21st, 2023.
The aim of the convention is to provide a space where everyone has the opportunity to understand and acknowledge Black experiences, and practice the values held within Black communities, and Black Psychology as a whole. The convention is focused around presenters who are knowledgeable and advocates for the awareness and advancement of Black experiences and communities across the diaspora.
The ABPsi SC at MSP is now accepting presentation proposals for the convention. Proposals considered are posters, panels, experiential, and various forms of art (prose, dance, visual art, music, etc.) that coincide with the theme of the convention. Faculty, staff, students, and community members are all welcome to present.

The mission of the Association of Black Psychologists (ABPsi) is to promote and advance the profession of African Psychology; influence and affect social change; and develop programs where Black psychologists can assist in solving problems of Black communities and other ethnic groups. The ABPsi Student Circle at Michigan School of Psychology (ABPsi SC at MSP) is committed to upholding the mission and values of ABPsi and has taken on the responsibility of promoting this advancement, influence, and program development at MSP.
