Activism Day of Choice: Black Leaders Detroit

Black Leaders Detroit has a mission to provide financial support for diverse social and community impact projects originated and led by Detroiters of African descent.

How to Help:

  • Support Black Owned Businesses in Detroit and elsewhere! Here is a list from WXYZ Detroit of 400+ Black Owned Businesses in Metro Detroit
  • Donate your time or abilities to BLD–contact them via email ([email protected]) or phone (313.346.2779) for specific ways to help.
  • Donate to BLD Fund–They are currently asking for $1/week for their program, Affect Change, which will be used to help Black residents in Detroit. They are also running a “Restore the Village Fund,” where your donations will go to help small businesses and organizations in Detroit weather the storm of Covid-19, or you can choose to donate whatever you are able to.
