HAVEN staff will join Dr. Smith’s Psychology of Trauma class to present a training called Empowerment-Based Services: Tools and skills in working with survivors of intimate partner violence.
This program will overview the definition, dynamics, signs and symptoms, and myths associated with intimate partner violence. Students will explore current barriers for survivors, ways that our values and background impact our work, and will practice strategies to incorporate trauma informed and empowerment based techniques as best practice.
