Stipend/Payment: $20.15/hour
Hours: 10 hours per week
Job Description
The Graduate Assistant supports the Office of Admissions & Student Affairs in order to provide high quality, service-oriented student engagement programming. Reporting directly to the Director of Admissions & Student Affairs, the graduate assistant assists in developing and planning student engagement programming, student organization oversight and programming, student wellness initiatives, student resource research, and more.
Position Responsibilities
- Assist in the development and implementation of educational and community events hosted by the Office of Admissions and Student Affairs
- Assist with career services expansion to include planning and implementing career services events, communicating with employers and speakers, planning and implementing the career fair, providing employment resources, and more
- Research student service initiatives and create implementation plans
- Assist in the oversight of student organizations, including communicating with students and advisors, updating documentation, implementing events, and more
- Assist in the development and implementation of new student services
- Assist with new student orientation planning, preparation and execution
- Research and plan graduate student programming initiatives and provide recommendations
- Implement programming initiatives that support student engagement and retention
- Assist with student affairs website management
Position Qualifications
An individual applying for the position must meet the following qualifications:
- Incoming or current MA or PsyD student in good academic standing
- Available to work 10 hours per week
- Work with a high level of discretion and confidentiality to maintain professional/student boundaries
- Strong writing, research, technical and organization/administrative skills
- Proficient in use of technology including Word, Excel, Google Docs and Canva
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to network with other professionals and students
- Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Self-directed and autonomous, strong work ethic
- Reliable and flexible
