Clinic Supervisor

As an extension of the graduate programs in clinical psychology, the Michigan School Psychological Clinic is a training site for master’s and doctoral students fulfilling practicum requirements. Services provided include psychotherapy for individuals, couples, families, adolescents and children, group therapy, and psychological testing and assessment.  Clinic services are targeted to those with limited ability to pay; fees for therapy are determined on a sliding scale based on the client’s ability to pay. 

Under the direction of the Clinic Director, the Clinic Supervisor assists in supervising graduate students in clinical training, primarily in the area of testing and assessment.  The supervisor provides additional training for students on testing and assessment practices, supervising cases and assessment outcomes. The Clinic Supervisor takes an active role in projects designed to expand Clinic partnerships with the local community and other organizations committed to improving mental health.  

The ideal candidate must be invested in fostering the professional and clinical development of graduate students in clinical psychology through supervision, training and mentoring. Effective organization, communication, and interpersonal skills are essential to effectively feedback on clinical skill development. Candidates must possess a collaborative work style as well as the humanistic values consistent with the mission of MSP and the highest standards of ethical practice. This position reports to the Director of the MSP Clinic. 

This is a year-round, half-time (25 hours per week), in person, salaried position with benefits.


  • PsyD or PhD in psychology
  • Fully licensed as a Psychologist in the State of Michigan (LP) 
  • Experience supervising graduate students or clinicians at the TLLP/LLP level 
  • Experience in administering and interpreting psychological tests is required; experience in supervising psychological testing is preferred but not essential
  • Evidence of a collaborative and collegial work style with the ability to offer constructive and developmental feedback
  • Evidence of a strong commitment to multicultural competence, diversity and inclusion
  • Ability to work a set schedule to include two evenings during the week, and weekends should clinic services be expanded to include Saturdays
