Scholarships Make A Difference

In addition to attracting students from economically and ethnically diverse backgrounds, scholarship support recognizes excellence and helps students in times of need.

Privately funded by alumni and friends, these awards directly touch the lives of students. Because funding for these scholarships and grant programs is limited,  only a fraction of a deserving student population benefit from this assistance. You can help ease the financial burden and increase a student’s ability to complete his or her academic requirements by contributing to one of MSP’s scholarship funds.

Find out more about the exceptional students who have benefited from MSP scholarships.  Read their acceptance statements here.

Cereta Perry Scholarship:

This scholarship honors the late Cereta Perry, PhD, co-founder of CHS/MSP, and her contributions to diversity in education. Dr. Perry was a lifelong advocate of MSP and its mission. This scholarship was established to recruit and support the academic goals of diverse incoming Master of Arts (MA) and Doctor of Clinical Psychology (PsyD) students.

Jill Benton Humanistic Psychology Scholarship:

This scholarship honors Jill Benton, former MSP librarian and alum, and her commitment to humanistic psychology. The JBHPS supports a PsyD student who is committed to advancing the science and practice of humanistic psychology as demonstrated by excellence in scholarship.

Aombaye Ramsey Diversity Award:

The Aombaye Ramsey Diversity Award (ARDA) was created in 2004 to honor Dr. Aombaye Ramsey’s lifelong commitment to social justice. This award supports a PsyD student who shares that same commitment to advocate on behalf of diversity issues. Priority will be given to applicants who belong to an ethnic, racial, or cultural group traditionally underrepresented in the field of psychology.

Marjorie Scott Scholarship for Excellence:

In honor of this MSP faculty member’s endless commitment to excellence, this award is presented to graduating students of each academic program selected for excellence in research, academics and clinical work.

Student in Need Grant:

The grant provides direct financial support to students in good academic standing but at risk of withdrawal due to financial hardship.
